2009 — 2010 Welcome to this, our fifth year of offering quality plants of beautiful Louisiana irises to New Zealand gardeners. Once again we have had unusual weather, but perhaps this is becoming the norm! The late Summer and Autumn weather was beautiful, with very little wind, and working in the gardens was very pleasant. However July brought Winter with a blast of cold conditions all over the country, and lots of rain in some places and lots of snow in others. Louisiana irises have been enjoying the rain and are well into growth now, which is very promising for the bloom season ahead. Seven more new New Zealand releases obtained from IRIS HAVEN, Australia, in recent years are included in this listing of some of the cultivars we grow, and many older, tried and true varieties will always be popular. This year our Feature Release is ‘Few are Chosen’. Registered by Heather Pryor in 2005, it is a new colour breakthrough in her quest for a true orange Louisiana iris. A full description follows in the catalogue. The two DeBaillon Award winners will be available again, but in very limited supplies. After such a demand for them on their release, it has taken a considerable length of time for them to clump up to flowering size plants once more. We hope you enjoy browsing this website, in the pages of which there should be irises for everyone. Best wishes for a great iris season. Stephanie Boot
